I am terrified. Not just uneasy, not just concerned—petrified. Pseudoscience is rising. Political manipulation of health is escalating. The erosion of fundamental rights in this country is happening in real-time. Too many people are either complicit or willfully blind to it. What will become of us? Those who are at risk, those who will be harmed by the actions of others.
Trump’s new initiative, Make America Healthy Again, is a dangerous mix of half-truths and outright misinformation, intertwined with RFK Jr.’s relentless, unfounded claims about vaccines and Autism. The spread of misinformation is a public health crisis in itself. Not to mention, it further stigmatizes Autistic people.
In future government funded studies. The potential for correlation to be twisted into causation and then sold as definitive evidence is staggering. Science requires rigorous study, peer review, and replication—not soundbites and conspiracy theories.
And let’s be clear: This administration and its enablers are poised to dismantle essential programs. Medicaid? On the chopping block. Medicare? Set to be diminished. The Department of Education? Targeted for gutting. These programs are lifelines, not luxuries, and without them, millions will suffer.
So I have to ask: How can people still be proud of this man?
What terrifies me most is hearing people boast about how proud they are of their president and this government. These supporters fail to realize that they will be next. Once this authoritarian government is done ruining the lives of queer people, immigrants, and disabled folks, if not killing them. The hate will not end there. No one is truly safe unless they are in the top 1%—the rest of us are disposable in their eyes.
These wealthy, white, privileged men have no education or experience in my reality. Yet, they get to decide what care I receive. They determine how I live and whether I am seen as worthy. I will never be okay with that. I know I’m not a government expert. But I am disabled. I am Autistic. So, despite being white myself, I am not seen as a person of value. I also am a raging anti-racist, feminist, reproductive rights wanting woman. So yah, they are not gonna help my ass.
Just because I want to say this, I will. Until Palestine is free. We will keep screaming From the River to the sea, Palestine will be free! As the idiots within the white house talk about using ethnic cleansing in Gaza. I want to say it is Palestine and the land and her people should be free.
A small fact about myself, the Author. I am an Autistic woman with a strong sense of social justice.
I want everyone that reads this blog to know something very important. Autism is not a disease. It is not meant to be cured. Just like the environment needs biodiversity humans need Neurodiversity.
The confusion between intellectual disabilities, speech delays, and co-occurring conditions with autism itself is exhausting. Autism is a neurological difference —not a pathology to be erased.
Spiritual Crisis: What is a woman to believe?
Where is God1 /Goddess in all of this? Where is Jesus? The Jesus I know stood for human rights, disability rights, and the intrinsic worth of every person. Where is he in their hateful policies? Yes, the Bible has passages filled with archaic views on disability and womanhood. These were patriarchal views written by men, not Jesus. I refuse to believe that the Jesus who healed the sick and uplifted the marginalized would condone oppression. He would not support the cruelty celebrated by this administration.
And let’s talk about bodily autonomy. How can they claim to be pro-life while deporting children? While starving children? While stripping them of access to basic needs? I refuse to believe that Jesus would advocate saving embryos. While simultaneously abandoning the living, breathing children suffering in a system designed to neglect them.
This is why I loathe what organized religion has become. People have twisted Jesus’ name into a tool of oppression. They use it to spread hate and declare superiority. It is used to subjugate and defile women. It is what fueled Project 2025 and continues to fuel racism, patriarchy, sexism, ableism and everything cruel in this society. That is not faith. That is not justice. That is not the world I want to live in. So I continue to try and fight it.
And yet, I feel so powerless. Because of lacking Covid precautions, having POTs, and Long COVID, I can’t march in protests. I can’t stand in the streets. I can’t make the invisible disabilities visible. All I can do is call government officials, over and over, hoping my voice is enough. It never feels like it is.
Part of the tactic being used is to overwhelm us. Hoping that we do not have the time or energy to respond. I will not be distracted, nor will I consume the redundant news videos. I will not burn myself out or trigger a flare of my health conditions.
I will not be silent
I will dissent
I will scream
I will be hysterical
I will be a nasty woman
I will fight for justice, even if it is from my bed.
I will include self-care and joy in resistance.
- I am not a Christian. I am a Witch/Pagan who happens to love and look up to Jesus of Nazareth. He was and is an amazing teacher, healer, and ascended master. He was always with and for marginalized people. ↩︎
